Speaking as one who sacraficed thier academic career in favour of staying in Bristol - Go to Delft. You'll regret it otherwise. Of course, you can always turn down the post if you get offered something similar nearer by, it is allowed. You can always come visit. And anyway, Delft is a nice town, you might even like it. That's my two cents anyways

Same advice I've recieved from more-or-less everyone I've talked to about this. I'm trying to sort a meeting with my project supervisor tommorrow - who's the one who forwarded the proposal on to me, as it was sent to him originally by a friend of his who's the guy in Delft that would be supervising this project - and talk through some stuff.

I'm beginning to come around to the idea. At least I'm a fairly adaptive person, shouldn't have too many problems adjusting to a new culture. Means I'd know what I was doing with the next 4 years which would certainly let me put off my "WTF do I do now?" issues for a while longer.... Also, if I'm going to a completely different University, hopefully they'll help me out with housing stuff, which is more than I'd get here.... here I'd be assumed that I know what I'm doing after almost 3 years in Bristol.
