Returned back to the motherland for the weekend for
amicu and Chris' wedding. Photos are now up. Met lots of people I hadn't seen in a long time - 4 years or so in some cases ("Evil" Dave, Fiona, etc). Too darn long. Also got to see lots of the usual crew again, and meet a few new people. Oh, and I still can't remember the name of that girl who I was dancing with... damnit. We must have been talking for about an hour before that, so this is driving me a bit nuts still. I'll point her out once others (i.e.
dylan) put up photos, and hopefully we can get this finally resolved. Curse my bad memory for names.
On the coach on the way up, I thought of a whole bunch of new stuff that may well actually pull all of my earlier work into a coherent thesis, which is all good... the new idea is now being called "Foxtrot" (with thanks to all the various people that got queried about formal dances over the weekend), and I've managed to write it up and hand a copy of the basic idea to my supervisor without mentioning one of the influences on the name. OTOH, given that the Wikipedia entry for it describes it as "slow-slow-quick-quick", that's not *too* dissimilar from the algorithm, so I think i'll get that one in.
I've gotten addicted to Wikipedia. Well ok, just a little bit. Although, I am now part of the WikiProject Discworld.

- Whiteboard kabuki theatre - required reading for people playing "Legend of the 5 rings", and everyone else should just read the Wikipedia entry on Sasaki Kojiro first
- Wonderful expression in the last frame of this one. Another one of those "grin like cheshire cat" things
- Wulffmorgenthaler does their take of "Superman"
