Every so often I believe that linking to xkcd is vitally important. Today is one of those days. However, from now on I'm just going to assume that those of you not refreshing the page every 10 seconds and therefore instantly aware of every great new comic are unwashed heathens unworthy of being told of the latest and greatest new ones, thus stopping me from posting damn near every one.

(oh, and I now have their "Just shy not antisocial (you can talk to me!)" t-shirt. It is indeed cool)

Update: fuck me senseless with a chainsaw. I keep noticing little details on the map. Bonus points to everyone who knows about Qwghlm, and for it being on the damn map.

As a few of you may be aware, I have a somewhat heavy webcomics diet, only nominally kept in check by the judicious use of certain items of homebrew software. That being said, it helps if I at least try and get a few other people addicted as well, and after Goats had the lines today "There's four panels on managing cross-species confusion in interdimensional massively mammalian furry/plushie online social networks. That's just this afternoon", I figured now was as good a time as any to dump a few of the new ones/ones not mentioned yet...
  • Dresden Codak. Run, don't walk, go and read it now. Heck, they've only done 34 of them so far, so you've got no excuse (well, sheer confusion from one's like this one may be an option). I can thank [livejournal.com profile] heymicster for this particular +5 enhanced timesink...

  • Ozy and Millie. At points, garfield-level funny pages stuff. And then we get logical fallacy tag (or similar) and you're wondering what happened. It's cute, and despite the family-friendliness, lots of fun.

  • Umlaut House. It's going through one of its periodic semi-hiatuses currently, and at one point the whole thing pretty much just got shoved forwards by about 15-20 years because the guy doing it wanted to do some stuff later on with the same characters + their now teenage kids. Despite all of that, it's a damn good comic, and well worth reading the archives. Oh, and FYI, furries with a wide range of sexualities. Doesn't phase me, but figured worth noting.

PhD posted a good one on debugging today that I felt needed sharing (as it's getting added to the wall near my door)
Copy of said comic )
On the same sort of topic, I'm *still* trying to wade through the backlog of unread comics. My grabber software didn't update over most of Xmas/New Year because there was a brief power-cut and the machine didn't properly start up again (hey, it was a Linux box that hadn't been rebooted in about a month or two, and I hadn't noticed I'd done something stupid and messed up the bootloader). I'm currently somewhere in the middle of the comics starting with "E", and I'm thinking about doing a bit of pruning....
