Palfrey's life

I'm leaving tommorrow morn, so this will probably be my last regular post for a while. Things are starting to appear for me to do (I've got an inch-thick stack of A4 pages to read for starters... partially stuff with the MSc and partially unmarked c/w for the High Performance Computing module that I'm supervising), including some fun things, like the iain_banks community noting that he's at Borders on the 11th for part of the publicity for the Algebraist. I think I'm definately going along and getting my copy signed (which would make it the 3rd of his books I have signed).

Gulity pleasures: I've been playing with the Kitten Cannon (thanks neobitch). Current high score: 1405. Sub-orbital kitten flight is possible....

Oh, and does this image of Fomalhaut look anything like the eye of Sauron to anyone else? Edit: just read the article properly instead of looking at the pretty pictures. You would have thought that the title "Lord of the Stellar rings" would be a dead giveaway that others had noticed it... but no. Sleep now.
