Things I have been doing with my brief weekend time:
- Playing Lego Star Wars, and becoming utterly convinced that a) minifigs as a choice for enacting movies rock (incidentally, see things like The Minifig Museum of Modern Art and PodBrix) and b) the people that wrote the abbreviated cut-scene versions of the films in lego form for this game should have been the directors of Star Wars, not that George Lucas hack. They're *way* more fun, and they've cut all of the crap.
- Building the AnimeSuki first episodes feed (
animesuki_first). AnimeSuki is a great anime bittorrent site that lists all of the new releases of a great many fansub groups. It rocks lots. Only hitch is that every time I look at it, I keep seeing things like the 52nd episode of some series, and if I get into that series, tracking down the fansubs for the earlier eps is a pain. So, the solution is this feed. Once a day it looks at the site, and gives you a list of any new torrents posted there which have a first episode (either a first episode on its own, or a pack of episodes including the first episode). The first entry on the feed didn't work out quite right, but it's going well now. Figured this would be of interest to some others here, so posting. Will eventually x-post to some anime groups once it's been running for a week or so
Animesuki First
Between Animesuki and Anime-source I think I get to see most new anime bittorrents go past.

Other things I love about the game: The whole idea that you can buy invincibility i.e. they've managed to realise that at some point of the game becomes exploration vs. surviving the bad guys. Also the very good death/cheap resurrection. Stops you from having the normal annoying big gaps between dying and getting to keep playing the game. They've put a lot of work into thinking about how the play flows, and doing things to stop that getting interrupted.
