I've had a fairly busy few last days, but this is somewhat to be expected.

William Gibson's Xmas Story
The Rasterbator (thoroughly worksafe, not even slightly dodgy)
- Managed to miss my darn plane flight, but got on the next one (all of those morning flights fine, and I miss an afternoon one...), so not that much delayed overall.
- The hair has been cut considerably down to size! Pictures soon...
- Did the whole family Xmas thing, went down to Kent, had lunch with grandparent, parents and brother, all good, got the heck back to Ealing. Got iAudio M3 (sort of from myself, with contributions from parents), Red Dwarf Series 1-4 DVD box set, set of wooden figures of the 3 monkeys, a mug that I can write on with chalk, and various other fun things.
- Didn't get to see Ealing people on Xmas Eve as usual plans, but got together at Ben's for Boxing day. Saw John, Keng and George (all of whom I hadn't seen in about 2 years), met interesting linguist friend of Louise's (long conversation regarding Sapir-Whorf, the nature of happiness, and whether the nuking of the human race off of the face of the earth would be a bad thing), got to properly met Jim (Louise's fiance whom apparently remembers some drunken conversation with me, something about the "3rd/5th dimension", but whom I couldn't remember).
- Did most of the LotR-athon with Dad and Brother, which I had to cut short 1h23 into the 3rd one in order to go to...
- ...dinner and drinks last night with
baljemmett,
_sugar_babe_ (whom I'd never met before),
samj and Mike (who needs to get an LJ so I can differentiate him from the rest of the sea of Mike's). We eventually ended up at a Bella Pasta, after negotiating between the twin problems of Mike's fussiness and generic group dinner indecisiveness, and then onwards to an expensive (even for London) pub with crap Blackthorn for a brief drinkies. At some point, managed to get around to telling
baljemmett that this was all a big hoax orchestrated by
xiombarg, and I was waiting for the next stage before telling him.... Myself,
baljemmett and
_sugar_babe_ then wandered into what appeared to be the last open bar in London, where I managed to persuade a barwench to mix a Midori Sour (which turns out to require Lime Juice *not* Lime Cordial ideally, but oh well), and much chattering ensued. Luckily I managed to locate the last Ealing Broadway tube home. - Went out with family to see the much acclaimed production of "The Producers" at the Theatre Royal. Unfortunately of the leads (Nathan Lane) had managed to dislocate part of his spine, so we had the understudy, but it was still darn good. Even given that I've never seen the film, which is something I'm going to try and rectify soonish.
