In the horrific event he gets back in I was vaguely considering whether it's a good idea to go. Given that
a) I'm resident in the Netherlands, and therefore I so much as breathe funny at customs and I'm getting strip-searched for drugs in various places
b) "Would carry the card if there was one" atheist that's just (in this horrific scenario) re-elected a bible-thumping president, and I'm going to his home state
c) Am doing scientific research with military applications
d) Texas is AFAIK, pretty much redneck central. Any bets on how many minutes before my life becomes that Bill Hicks sketch with the waffle waitress going "looks like we got ourselves a *reader*..."?

It's a little worrying.
