Meh. Have had one of those days of near-zero motivation. That both my office-mate and boss are off at a conference right now doesn't help (and given as this will still be the case tommorow, I'm not hopeful for that either). Major work today consisted of giving some advice re: hacking Positif (and a minor hack to one of the display scripts), and then working on an mass-spring simulator so that I can do some tests of my framework w/ negative and positive information (negative: you do things when there isn't a link, but there should be). That second bit might sound like work stuff (and to a reasonable extent it is), but it's liable to get multi-purposed into becoming the basis of the relationship/"is geekier than"/etc mapper program I've been thinking about as well (working name: Kathleen Turner Overdrive, for various reasons). I really could have got a lot more done than I did tho...

Got the results back from the Dutch test. It's roughly how I thought: 50%. So I'm back and re-taking in 3 weeks time, 24th June. Right in the middle of the bloody work-week for one of the MSc modules, which is going to put a bit of a crimp in revision plans, but hopefully I'll do better anyways.

Important bit for bris people (this might have belonged at the top): I'm now booking holiday time, and have mapped out two big blocks of time I'm taking off.
Firstly, June 26th-July 11th. I'm with parentals in Cornwall until the 3rd, but the remaining days I'd like to spend at least partially in bris. So, who's going to be around, who's got crash space *attempt at puppy-dog eyes*, and is there anything vital happening soon after that point that I should extend my holiday time to include?
Secondly, August 7th-29th. Part of that is marked out for Edinburgh (more things on that this w/e probably), and there's Dan's wedding and the bachelor party (when he gets off his arse and figures out which country and when...). This still leaves about 2 weeks of fairly-free time. I'll probably spend at least part of it just having some R&R (i.e. do nothing) at the parents, and do a few things in London I've been meaning to cope with, but where I spend the rest of that time is currently not very well mapped out.

Looks like the social life is getting back out of it's state of complete non-existence briefly. AEGEE are doing a "Cheese and Wooden shoes" excursion this Saturday. I don't have that many details right now, but I know it's somewhere near Amsterdam, and we're coming back there in the evening to party! Yay.

Tickle's Original Inkblot Test
Tom, your subconscious mind is driven most by Self-protection

You are emotionally reserved and private. You typically keep your cool during arguments and rarely reveal personal information that you later regret.

On the surface, you appear very serene. Inside however, you may sometimes feel detached or disconnected from the world around you. The upside of this is that you are not the sort of person to easily lose your temper. You think about things rationally rather than get swept up in emotions. You also remain calm in the toughest of situations.

Your psyche is very unique; the more you learn about it, the more you will understand who you really are.

You belong in wise old Ravenclaw, for you've a ready mind. Here those of wit and learning will always find their kind.

Hey Palfrey,
Be good to see you when you're in Bristol. Unfortunately we can't put you up at ours as Jesper is staying with us for 2 weeks at exactly that time, so we're already overbooked! :(

I should be moved by then and can offer crash space but I'm moving to Bradley Stoke so transport might be an issue. Though there are buses to the centre / I can take you to Clifton on my way to work (you might not like the time though)
