Hadn't heard from Ruth in ages, and then she sends me this. In other news, for those of you who like RPGs, try the Kingdom of Loathing. To give you an idea of what sort of game this is, I'm currently carrying a Kentucky-Fried Meat Staff, wearing the The Colander of Em-er'il and a pair of bloody clown pants, and I'm using the Amulet of Extreme Plot Significance. I've got a ring of half-assed regeneration sitting in my backpack as well. A while back I built my own Bitchin' Meat Car. Outside of the main game, looking at fan sites, I'm currently attempting to combine a couple of the best item databases together to make one really good one....

Oh, and Mozilla Thunderbird hit version 0.6, which is nice. Currently my main email client.

Randomize your mp3 list, and pick a lyric from each of the first 20 songs, etc, etc. Snaffled off of [livejournal.com profile] cabellicious, [livejournal.com profile] just_a_monkey and probably various others. There are some very odd lyrics here, and this is after I skipped any that I couldn't actually tell what the hell was being said (also actually skipped any where I'd already listed a lyric from that band). I've marked a few I felt were particularly easy/hard

1. He likes all the pretty songs, and he likes to sing along, and he likes to shoot his gun, but he don't know what it means - easy
Nirvana, In Bloom

2. Never reason with a fool, but is that unkind, looks like I've lost my mind once again

3. Watching me, wanting me, I can feel you pull me down - hard

4. Oh can't you see, you belong to me. How my poor heart aches, with every step you take. - easy

5. Cockroach nets, rattling traps, how many devils can you fit upon a match? Curiosity killed the Kerouac cat
Bad Religion, Stranger than Fiction

6. Pinch history. Feel the pinch blistering. Pinch me in dreams, 'cause I'm still not listening - hard

7. One fine day in my odd past, I picked me up a transmission. I turned the fission ignition, went looking for the broadcaster - Bonus points!

8. Yeah they said you'll call me maybe yesterday, I don't have the strength to even pick up the phone, you wouldn't even know me since you went away

9. Listening to the muzak, hearing people scream, sitting in the waiting room reading crappy magazines

10. You smile at the rain while counting your change, that's what you do

11. I wish I had not woke up today. Everyone mistakes the things you say.
Garbage, Dog New Tricks

12. What a surprise, you're fucked with again. It's a way of life you need to get over

13. Wanna be a Ghostbuster. First black President, owner of "Hustler". Got shot down like Larry Flynt. Felt like shit like a bowel movement
Bloodhound Gang, Magna Cum Nada

14. But you seem to think, that you'll manage alone, that I'll be around and I'll be waiting for your call

15. Never find, never mind, never peace, god at least give me strength just for one more try

16. Your waves come crashing down like a semi-auto trailer - hard
Alien Ant Farm, Stranded

17. Take a look at what's been done, the killing wounds, the thousand guns

18. And when I finally found the one, it was almost too late. Underneath the audiotorium, she showed me why

19. Mama take this badge from me. I can't use it anymore. It's getting dark too dark to see
Guns and Roses, Knocking on Heaven's Door

20. Grounded, 5am, the nightlight is comforting but gravity is holding you

Edit: in a addition taken from [livejournal.com profile] cthulhulovesme, I'm writing in the names of ones people have got

Mood:: 'blank' blank
Music:: Avalanches, The - Since I Left You - Live At Dominoes

1/ Nirvana - In Bloom
4/ Errm... it's something like Watching.. by.. Sting or The Police or something. Gargh... I know it, dammit.
7/ I'm tempted to say "What's the frequency, kenneth" by REM... but I could easily be wrong. In fact... I'm practically certain I am.
11/ That's... Garbage, pretty sure. Song... song... hmmm... "Dog new tricks"?
16/ ARGH! This one is driving me nuts... the next line is something like "I dive so deep in the sea to avoid killer whales" or something like that (possible misheard lyrics...). Is it a red hots song? Can't place it... damn.
19/ Knocking on Heaven's Door - Guns and Roses

Hmm... not bad I guess :-/

1, yup. 4, yes it's the police. 7, nope. The clue is that I'm giving bonus points for it. 11, yup. 16, not RHCP, but the next line is correct. I know you own the CD of this one. 19, yup.

Doing better than me...

I worked it out... Alien Ant Farm... I believe it's "Happy Deathday". Unless it's called something other than that... it *should* be called that.

Yup, AAF, but it's "Stranded" not "Death Day"

13-- Bloodhound Gang, "Magna Cum Nada"

Hrm. Ranking the difficulty of the answers is a good idea...

Correct on both. Those are actually some that I didn't consider too hard, but that I considered would be unlikely to be got by many people

Late May (http://www.mozilla.org/projects/firefox/roadmap.html) apparently. The Roadmap has slipped a bit, it used to be April/May. I've been using nightly builds (http://ftp.scarlet.be/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/nightly/latest-trunk/) for a while, but they're a bit in flux at the moment.
