There's a whole bunch of stuff I've been doing. Here's a summary
  • Went to Groningen with Promood. Pics are here. Short version: it's an insane city. Architecture that can't make up it's mind (old stuff that was done with cutting edge techniques, and neo-renaissance early 20th century work makes for much confusion), *no* actual closing hours. There are clubs there that open at *6am* for the people who don't want to go to sleep yet when they get thrown out of other places. We (plus couple of known locals) end up in various places until about 6:30 (first train goes back at 7:38). Very dead by end. One of the locals with us was a cute girl, unfortunately she smokes. I don't think excluding her on that point is picky, I hate the smell when I'm just briefly around it. Betting it tastes bad as well.

  • Took Dutch test again on Tuesday. More optimistic this time, *really* hoping I don't fail. Not good for mental state if I do. Results tommorrow.

  • Writing paper (working title "Statistical Approaches to Realistic Localisation in Wireless Ad-hoc Sensor Networks". Needs more words...). TeX is being a bitch, even with the help of LyX. Most everything is fine, but graphics are always a PITA.

  • Talked to a couple of of hogeschool (sp?) students today at TNO, re: their project with star networks and possiblities for it and T-MAC. Threw them an off-the-top of my head idea - Adaptive TDMA, based on clustered-star topologies with the clusterheads having effectively unlimited energy, and doing smart things with probabilities based on required bandwidth of sensors. *Might* have been done before, when I'm done with this paper (and not looking at probabalistic routing - my next idea), I'll do some research and see what others have done. If no-one's done it yet, then I'm writing a paper. Based on first impressions, guessing the students won't do everything with it that they could, so no real competition there

EDIT: Smeg, knew I forgot *something*. Am downloading 4GB of Anime series ("Super Dimensional Cavalry Southern Cross" - part of the robotech stuff apparently) on a "might be interesting" basis. I either need less bandwidth, more hdds or a social life
Music:: Apollo 440 - Millennium Fever - Film Me & Finish Me Off
Mood:: 'busy' busy

Hi, I added you from OkCupid.

Cigarette smoke irritates the hell out of my allergies, so I imagine that a smoker would be no happier with me than I with s/he. I certainly wouldn't enjoy sleeping with someone who was constantly sniffling and snorting in my ear. :)

Noticed already actually, have added you back.

OTOH, they'd probably also be coughing a fair amount from all the crap in their lungs, so possibly not so bothered by constant sniffling. Provided both of you are fairly heavy sleepers, it could work....

I have no idea what a Hogeschool is, but I think my hamster ought to go to one.

Literal translation (according to my dictionary) is "university", but more accurate appears to be closer to something like a polytechnic/college thing. Dutch terms don't always map perfectly to English, and I find myself occasionally using the Dutch words when the English ones don't work as well.
