Three media things today. Firstly, I've been remembering just how cool Vandread is. Having got hold of some decent rips of the first series, I'm re-watching the whole thing again. It's got a few vaguely original concepts in there, but for the most part it's a whole long list of anime stereotypes. But it's *so* *much* *fun*. It's just plain and simple cool (and someone going for the epic-scale space battles helps as well). It's not that heavy, it's a nice, relaxing fun watch.

Came across a flyer in the foyer here saying "Free Movie", giving a title, an address and a time tommorrow. Now, I was thinking about going to this - it's written in English, so figured targeted at the international student crowd, and I hadn't heard about the movie before, but the clipped poster looked cool, so I decided to look it up. It's called "Lay It Down", and my overall view based on various things appears to be that it's one of the random speed freak car racing movies that have popped up in recent years, but as done by evangelical christians. Humph. Was looking forwards to a movie, but not interested in being preached at. Thought: any movies with significant religious content should have some sort of minimum limit on their classification, on the basis that it's liable to cause a hell of a lot more offence to people than any amount of T&A.

i think you wrote "minimum age" when actually you meant "minimum IQ". age isn't what determines whether people are sheep who believe anything they're told to believe.

Unfortunately discriminating against the stupid is still generally frowned upon (and tricky to work with the edge cases), whereas with age
1) people generally have stuff to prove their age
2) You are a particular age or not. There's no real middle ground (ok, pedantic things on bday's, but lets ignore)
3) We can vaguely hope that by a given age that people have figured out enough not to be sheep-like (or have already been grabbed by a random brainwashing religious group)
