Palfrey's life

There's something I hadn't mentioned here before and should, partly because something has happened before I thought it would. I knew that I had made a lot of friends with Erasmus (and similar programs) people, most of whom are only in the country for 6-9 months, and so every so often I won't see a whole bunch of my friends again. I thought this would start ~January-March with the current batch, but nope. First going back (from a different situation i.e. no program) is Eva. She leaves for Germany on Saturday, and odds are that she won't be coming back to the Netherlands for a long time. I've just spent three hours in a pub earlier talking with her, but that ain't happening again because of this. Am I annoyed by this turn of events: no, not really. To use a marketing term, I didn't have enough emotional capital invested here. I *like* her, I'd like her to stay, but in a weasley way this gets me out of some questions I was asking myself. Namely, that I wasn't sure whether a relationship with her was workable. Maybe it would have been, but different countries is enough of a boundary to kill this very dead.

*sigh*, we return you to your regularly scheduled programming of bitching about my lack of relationships and relationship possibilities. Must find a nice Dutch girl so I can have someone who ain't gonna disappear after a few months.
