Life is looking up. After the shitty times that was last w/e (fever, coughing, etc), I've just had a couple of pretty good days. Mostly because I've just been to two different parties over these last 2 days.

The first was this very random student party, (some block of student housing called Jacoba, number 27 for anyone living there who randomly reads this) hosted by some people that I don't even know at all... frell knows how we know about it, but there was a lot of the familiar faces. Delft is like that I'm finding - there aren't that many different groups of people really, certainly among the ones you'll ever run into. It's just not big enough, but that's nice in a way - everything starts to become familar and comfortable after a time, like some sort of big security blanket. I think I could grow to enjoy this. From stories I was hearing at the 2nd party, I was apparently pretty drunk there - not drunk enough to do anything stupid, but drunk enough to certainly have some fun on the dancefloor, so all good. I'm still trying to work out one thing - I woke up on the morning after the party at about 7am, lying on my bed still fully clothed. Yup, he was drunk. I sat up, and realised that I wasn't wearing my glasses any more. Looked next to bed, not there. Looked on table, not there. Searched big apartment main room, not there. Eventually, I went to the bathroom, and I found them sitting there in the corner of the room. Damned if I know how they got there, as I don't even remember going to the bathroom. Ppl were speculating that I'd thrown up, but if I did it was the most incredibly stealth chuck up ever, as I don't remember it, and there's no evidence of this anywhere in my bathroom. Well, that party was a lot of fun, good music all around.

The second was last night with my good friends in the Unitech house on Leeuwenhoeksingel - mostly assorted ppl I know from AEGEE. This house is a bunch of about 10 people, and was remarkably organised (compared to my usual experiences re: house parties). We have everything from people actually staying and serving bar, to signs to things like the dancefloor they had in one of the bottom rooms of the house, etc. Given that I would guess that there was anything up to about 100 people there, this is a most welcome thing. Ran into most of the usual crew, said hi to all the assorted people that I hadn't said hi to on Wednesday (usual AEGEE meeting) 'cause I was still feeling a bit ill. Filled in form for Allard so that I will be going on this little Maastricht/Cologne/Aachen trip next w/e with FACT (AEGEE sub-committee in charge of foreign affairs). Then I managed to get talking to this cute german girl by the name of Eva. She's over here doing an internship with NIDI, has good taste in music (i.e. disliked the same big club dance music that I didn't like. Damn/thank you Alex!), and seems like a intelligent person who's not afraid to work for what she wants (she's not on one of the standard intern/"come to the netherlands" programs, but sorted everything out for herself. Given the housing hell that is the Netherlands, this is very impressive). Ok, yes she has glasses :-) And, in a major change for my usual patterns with this sort of thing (i.e. not a total bokkup), I have her email addy and a invite to go and do something in Den Haag at some point soon (she lives/works there, and I haven't seen much of it yet). Irregardless of whether this works out, or just fizzles out, I'm in a good mood! Something is smiling on me for once :-) Despite the fact that I'm feeling pretty dead after the activities of these last two days, life is fun!

Oh, and something I forgot to mention before - I'm getting feedback from someone using my image gallery scripts. Someone I don't know (random french person) has managed to find a couple of minor bugs, and after I fixed those, he also sent me back some improved documentaton. Schweet! Bonuses of the open-source philosophy - egoboo!
Mood:: high on my own neurotransmitters
Music:: Everclear - Sparkle And Fade - Strawberry
