As I've been sent one of the reminder emails today, I figure I might as well prod you lot as well on this one. Specifically, Imperial College's Science Fiction society is holding Picocon 26 on Saturday 28th of February in the union building.

Events will include:
  • Talks and panels discussions by Pat Cadigan (Synners, Fools), Robert Rankin (The Sprouts of Wrath, The Brentford Chainstore Massacre) and Michael Marshall Smith (Spares, Only Forward)

  • Silly Games, Destruction of Dodgy Merchandise

  • Booksellers and LAN Gaming

  • The famous Picocon prizes (With prizes and cheap beer)

£5 ICSF members, £8 Concessions, £10 otherwise.

(There's also a Facebook event page)

There's also the Destruction of Dodgy Merchandise - they auction off the worst sci-fi related toys they can find (R2D2 potato head for example), and then the winners get to destroy them with the aid of various tools and liquid nitrogen :-) and the Absolutely-Not-A-Fish-Duel, which provided the H&S folk don't appear (unlikely) will involve people trying to slap each other with fish...

Was lots of fun two years ago, and would have gone last year if it didn't clash with plans for geekery and beer in Belgium, so I'm looking forwards to it this year!
