1) Book/Movie involving lots of these things: High Fidelity

3) 2+2=5 (for very large values of 2)

5 Bands (and particular albums from said) you've been listening to that people should listen to more
1) The Magnetic Fields (69 Love Songs)
2) The Fall (A Past Gone Mad)
3) The Coral (The Coral)
4) Ataris (Blue Skies Broken Hearts Next 12 Exits) - bit whiny, but still good

2) Eels - Novocaine for the Soul
3) R.E.M. - She Just Wants To Be
4) Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody (me, and *so* damn many other ppl)

Five technologies I'd *really* like to see happen
1) Nanotech assemblers
2) Glades (imagine a sort of smart sunglasses - front is cameras, back is screens, middle is processor. At a simple level acts like improved photochromics - only darkening the really bright bits in real time, but would also have a plug to attach for visual output from computer systems. Stolen wholesale from Ken McLeod's "Star Fraction")
3) Human equivalent AI (and beyond)
4) Mind uploading - first thing to do with this: backup myself.
5) Combine 1 and 4 to allow people to become machine phase e.g. look human but be effectively indestructible (barring gray goo/ direct hit with a nuke, but backups would reduce the problem here)
Hmm... can't think of a 5th set of fives. Damn.
