palfrey at 10:21pm on 22/05/2008Over the next two weekends (and apparently earlier, but not in my location) there's the Oxjam music festival going on all over the place. Basically, you have some bands playing in various locations with money going to Oxfam, all for a good cause, etc, etc. Me, I just want some music. Also, I'd quite like to find other people to go and see music with.
The events in question are all occurring at the Odeon cinema in Putney (a short walk from my new place - map), and each time you've got a band followed by a film, all for just 6 quid. We have:
23rd May (i.e. tommorrow) - King Hermit (or outside of MySpace we have a YouTube video) followed by 24 Hour Party People
31st May - Dynamo Garage and Joe Mallory Skinner followed by This is Spinal Tap
(there are numerous others, but those are the ones I'd like to go and see)
There's also a Facebook group and a main info page on the Oxjam website. Any takers?
