palfrey at 06:53pm on 27/05/2003I haven't exactly been saying much recently, mostly due to my semi-hibernating state (i.e. indoors and working) due to exams. This led someone to comment when I turned up to todays one "Tom, most of us try and not look like we've just spent the last week on a desert island" - ok the beard is getting a bit straggly, but that's to be expected.... I do think however he was partially saying this to attempt to bolster his own self-image in front of a quite nice girl who was also there. I'd give a shit about this but a) he's got about whelk in a supenova odds here and b) she smokes (as I just twigged today) and so my remote interest in her just vanished completely....
k, exams. Just had ALE (Advanced Language Engineering) - the vaguely amusing initials and the 1984-ish name are the main interesting bits, but I kinda got into it. Realised yesterday that it was basically half the crap I'd done for my thesis, and therefore i did understand all the math crap and Haskell that I was reading thru.
Next up (tommorrow) is Safety Critical Systems - which is boring, pointless, but worth a bit of my degree, so must bother. First problem - look at the notes, and the revision notes (which bear no resemblance to one another) and figure out which one they're using to copy+paste and write the exam from. Yay.... lots of waffly crap either way.
DB on Friday, everything gets sorted a week from then. Got Buffy S6 from Dan today (via Laura doing the courier thing with the little 12 CD boxes), so think I'll get some dinner, watch an ep of that and then do some work.....
Oh, found good song called "Jedi Drinking Song" by the Dust Rhinos - some random celtic band (recommended to me via Audioscrobbler). Lyrics are here, find it randomly. If you get really desparate, ask me, I've got it somewhere....
