Palfrey's life

Having just come back from a night of some drinking (midori sours are a wonderful thing - midori, chambord and lime juice - mmm....), I was catching up on the latest LJ posts and noticed one post by queenrivet on the community cyberpunk as an advert for axis_of_uglies - something I took some offence at, as it was basically exchanging one crappy opinion on good looks for another. As I agreed with neither, I was somewhat pissed as the second was supposedly "alternative" my broadly-speaking societal subgrouping, and ergo I posted something voicing this as she had left the post as non-commentable.

Those of you noticing the vast levels of hypocriticism in the previous paragraph are correct. Why should I give a flying fuck about anyone else's opinions on good looks? A combination of society's discrimination towards "beautfiul" ppl and my own hideously screwed ethics. I have better things to deal with right now (DM c/w / revision / etc) than sort that out.

I was amazed somewhat by the speed at which I saw replies to my post. Different time zones are partly the cause I'd guess, but they're still moving pretty fast
