Two things of note today, both about things called Foxtrot. The first won't mean a lot to pretty much everyone, but it's a big thing to me. I couldn't get to sleep last night, was up until ~4am tossing and turning. Major reasons for this would be my mind being fully active and running around. Every so often I get convinced that my erratic schedules (often, like today, not coming in to work until 11) are me being a lazy bastard and I really should fix that. Other times, like last night, when I have an idea about 2-something am and my mind is running around with the implications of it for another hour-and-a-half, and then I do some brute force processing today regarding said insight, the results of which solve a problem I've been wrestling with on-and-off for about 2 weeks (more, really, the problem first came up a couple of months ago). I'm now certain that my "mornings are bad" schedule combined with never really fully getting the whole PhD stuff out of my head is the ideal way to actually manage to complete this on schedule. These moments of originality, of doing truly new things, are why I do all of this.
The second thing was with the comic strip Foxtrot, which had a genius one today playing on silly semantic messing (especially given the recent discussion with
azalynn, this was particularly amusing)

(There should be a comic above here, if not go to the site)
