In a handful of hours time, I'm getting on a plane to Warsaw. I'm effectively going off the map for 3 weeks... for all I know I'll end up at an internet cafe 5 minutes in, but given the schedule, odds are I'll be very much offline. The only electronic devices going with me are my watch, my shaver and my camera. I feel practically naked already! (The Singularity Is Near is going with me, so I should feel a little less cut off) Among the things now packed are a Fluxx set and a Chez Geek set (as well as one normal pack of cards), and I plan to introduce my associates - 30+ assorteds from all over Europe - to the wonders of these games.
By now, I would have thought I would have gotten used to meeting up with large groups of people that I've never spoken to offline before (there's a mailing list for this trip), but it's still a scary/thrilling thing to do. I will be back on the 30th, and probably online that evening.
