I've finally submitted my damn paper. After yet another Week Of The Long Days (tm, pat. pend) I've submitted. Hello vast long list of MASS 2005 Technical Programme Committee. Hope you like it, because I'd quite like to revisit Washington. Summary: my protocol kicks ass, and does what it says it could. All good. Yay. And it only took stupidly large amounts of my time, and 16Gb of end log files (there's about uh... at least 16-20Gb I've deleted along the way), which after much sifting and so on becomes 2 graphs and eventually a 10 page paper. Woo.
Other things done today: I've managed to completely not do any of Queen's night/day, which sucks, but at least I got the futzing paper done. Having played through the Half-Life 2 demo a while back (now I have a shiny Geforce 6600 GT to play it on), and thought "my god that's good" - between a moment of sheer terror when a security guard whips out his sparky pain stick when I'm weaponless and the mayhem of the gravity gun - I ordered the full thing. Would have used the whole Steam thing, but it really doesn't like my Visa cards, so I ordered the Collectors edition (£6 more than normal one + it has a t-shirt) off Amazon, and it turned up today. Am just about to play again...
Tried some more bidding for Reading tickets (they've hit the £200 mark already, but I'm trying my luck at about £165. Cover price (with booking fees) is about £130, so that's still pretty damn high), no luck yet, but managed to get an ATI Remote Wonder USB remote control off of Ebay (yay, linux support), which will become part of the all-singing media box, as given as I've decided I'm going to the Rotterdam Mac store next weekend and buying a Mac mini, so that's going to become a reality. Yay.
Tired now. HL2 (small amount, we hope...) then sleep....
