I'm all for attempting to locate their genetic material and bring back a few species that we've collectively wiped out, but Homo neanderthalensis? Bringing back things that we wiped out 'cause they tasted good/we wanted to nick their habitats, fine. Bringing back our evolutionary ancestors (not quite correct, but you know what I mean), not so good. We out evolved them, and I for one would like to look forwards, not back.... Not quite as bad as the silly creationists, but still a bit barmy.

(Edit: found a decent hominid timeline)
