Palfrey's life

As previously mentioned, I've just spent the weekend with the parentals. Spent a fair amount of Friday finishing off the conclusion to the paper (laptops rule! Especially when they have 4 hour battery lives, as all the adaptors you have are UK->Europe not the other way around. It may weigh a bit, but it fits fine in my bag and out performs my desktop, so who cares....). Went shopping on Saturday, bought 5 books around Camden and central, a t-shirt that says "Stop me if I'm gurning", couple of DVDs ("Way of the Gun" rules - lines like "Survival is the ultimate monkey" and "15 million dollars is not money. It's a motive with a universal adaptor"), and then went up TCR way to have a quick gander at cameras... ended up buying the expensive model of camera that I wanted (because they had it for £175 rather than the £250+ I was expecting...), and it was well worth it... loving much. Sold old one to parentals. They're coming here for the weekend next one, mostly 'cause it's my brother's 21st and he wants to see Delft. Bought Rasmus album on way back, didn't see "shaun of the dead" (no cinemas open on sunday :-( )

And now a summary of the 160 LJ entries that turned up on my friends over the last 4 days....

Usual crop of insane/stupid ppl (I don't care if you think you're cyberpunk/just discovered Buffy/whatever. Say something new, or shut the fuck up), PPGs, women who wear glasses (don't *repeatedly* post to photo communities unless you're actually attractive please. Having enormous lump-o-metal sticking out of nose does not make alternative/attractive/less fricking stupid), programmable matter article, saw plant pics (ye gods, what's with the fucking purple! heck, I got that out of my system with my first website aged 16 or whatever. now invisigoth51 and thessalian do this.... and I still remember vanir's version of the sci-fi site....gah!), can I get this with project funds?

/me breathes deeply, and goes to 4 days of funnies to get over the information lag a.k.a. mass rush of idiots that I can cope with in small doses, but 4 days worth in one go is a bit tricky.

EDIT: The cut just got added because for some reason some people took offense at my calling some of the people who turn up on my friends page (read: mostly via otherwise good communities) insane/stupid, and so in the interest of harmony I've placed a cut around it. If you're easily offended (get with the fricking program ppl. How you survive in this modern world if you're offended by me is beyond my comprehension.... anyways. Being honest like that is what *caused* the cut...) then don't read inside it. That and it's quite big.
