I'm doing an experiment in live-blogging while I sit here with baited breath for the announcement of the London Mayoral elections, which currently looks like having just come back to London it's about to go down the tubes (ha!) under a posh, Tory bastard. Admittedly, I didn't vote today, but that has mostly due to do with the fact I'd only *just* come back to London when the deadline for registering for voting occurred. In my defence, my local area is a Tory stronghold, and my vote probably wouldn't have done that much to this area. The other 54% of Londoners who also didn't vote don't necessarily have that defence, but at least this looks like to be the most voted in of these since the 2000 start one (which I *did* vote in, and haven't lived in London practically since then).

Posting now. Update when there is one.

12:01. Hmm. No overall majority on 1st preference, 42.48% vs 36.38%. Here's hoping a large chunk of those 10% Lib Dem votes go to Ken in the second round.

12:04. Crud. 4 years of being governed by a political joke. Joy. Here's hoping his advisors have some braincells, because Boris Johnson would probably be hard pressed to find his own arse with both hands and a map.
