Palfrey's life

Is anyone else keeping up with Battlestar Galactica as they get shown in the US? i.e. you've now seen 3x20? I've just seen it, and luckily, I think I can say this in a spoiler-free way - is it just me, or is it probable that the entire end sequence is heavily influenced by *someone's* acid flashback? I'm actually worried that they've just managed to comprehensively jump the shark here (not the earlier stuff, just the last ~5 minutes). I'm still planning on watching the next series, and reading of some interviews with the creators looks like it's still going to be good, but I'm a bit worried.
