Palfrey's life

In an approriate timing moment, my actual "when I was born" birthday was in a plane, and I failed to notice it due to being buried in a book. Which is about right for me. I've just spent the last 4 days assortedly celebrating my getting this far. Firstly, in London on Thursday and having lunch with _imran_, samj and omylouse. Doesn't fully count as a bday-thing, except I got a nice card from samj/omylouse.

Next, back in Bristol with rob_is_raze, samurite, rattieally, chocojon, heymicster, Dan (who is LJ-less) a_wife3cats1dog and Ben (whose LJ-name I'm unsure of) on Friday, firstly in Zizzi's (who do damn good pizzas), and then later on in various pubs, bars, etc. First one was the Hope and Anchor, which is of note for the Kronenbourg Blanc, a pub cat (photo), and how embarassed we could attempt to get samurite in front of some of his work colleagues who were still there (given they'd turned up a few hours earlier, I suspect he was safe).

Later, I returned to London, went out for a meal with the parents on Saturday, and then did the whole presents thing on Sunday itself. The actual day to a certain extent was kinda one of those more minor things, and the best bits was more celebrating with everyone before then. That, and getting 3 "happy birthday" things on LJ from people in 3 different countries (2 continents!). Thanks nref, mirli and omylouse! Oh, and as I'm on the subject, happy birthday to raspberrysalmon (and a host of others, who I've just found out also include Amber Benson to the vast list of famous people)
