After my travelling last weekend (I worked out at some point that I was on the Tube all 4 days, and also either on a plane or a coach all of those days as well), I've had a bit more peaceful one this weekend. Ok, I started off with a huisfeest (house party) being held at the house of someone I know from AEGEE, but that's about it for busy things. That was pretty quiet, and well could be described as pretty dull, but OTOH I did get to meet a large cluster of Irish (Republic, not Northern) folk who are some of the new Erasmus intake (pan-european "swap the students" program), including a cute redhead (who sadly already has a bf). That, and I bothered asking someone who the cool song was being played by and learnt about a new band (well old, and actually dead) the Guano Apes. Net result of that, and also a conversation earlier about fridges results on me downloading the Guano's entire back catalogue, writing the wikipedia entry for their live album, and learning all about 1,1,1,2-Tetrafluoroethane (it's amazing where conversations can take you, and what you realise you should lookup when you get home).
Yeah, so not quite so quiet. I've now spent most of the last two days finishing watching Angel - and I think I've figured out the significance of the last scene. ( spoiler warning ). I've also been watching far too much House, which despite it's somewhat formulaic "screw up for 35 minutes, then have a great insight and figure it all out" plotlines, is still a lot of fun, and the only medical drama I've ever really enjoyed.
