5 weeks is a bit too long. Especially when there's things you're meant to be doing, and everyone you used to know around an area has finally decided this is the summer that they'll *really* leave home. Which sucks. In a vague attempt to keep the remaining fragments of my sanity, I went to a little local bands thing last night at the local Finnegan's Wake (which once in the dim and distant past used to be somewhere I could walk into on a Saturday night and know half the people there), but now has made itself over a bit, doing live music and comedy at various times. Overall thing was called West London Calling, and the bands were The Post War Years (pretty good), Awful Sparks (not so good) and The Return (who were worth the £3 on their own). Met a few interesting people (mostly students at the TVU), and managed to get mistaken for one of the organisers by a band member. Not a bad use of an evening.
'tis difficult coming back to a city, especially when you're not back for long enough to really start getting back into its life. Oh well. I'm missing Delft in a way, but mostly I'm missing my routine. I'm used to certain things, certain patterns, and these last few weeks have been a break from that without anything properly different really replacing it.
I'm planning on being at

rob_is_raze's housewarming, but if anyone can think of a good reason for me to come down to Bristol before then (say on the Friday), plus a small area of crash space, that would also be good.
