It's been a fun few days. Shaunna's wedding went well, and it was good to meet some new people and at least see some of the old. I've also proceeded to read the whole of the new Harry Potter (I screwed up, and had 4 hours of travelling. Somehow, a good 600 page book is possible in that time). There's a few minor bad thoughts come home to roost over these last weeks, and also some good ones. The bad ones probably started to popup about a week or so ago, when I noticed a magazine article talking about "50% of 25-year old males having never gotten married or cohabited", and my thinking that I'm six months away from being a statistic. Also, I'm going to see a grandparent tommorrow (the mad, religious one), and I mentioned to the parents this evening while we were out for a meal that the "topics that don't get discussed in front of Nanny" should be expanded to a) my having gone to a wedding and b) my having gone to a wedding of someone a year younger than me. I'm convinced that if that doesn't get followed, that she's liable to try and get me setup with some random, and that the only option then is to avoid the entire county of Kent for the rest of my life, and that's not something I want to have to do.
Plus side of these two weddings has at least been that I am reasonably convinced again (at least in my eyes), that I am fully capable of being charming, interesting, and at least somewhat interesting to the opposite sex, with an absolute minimum of alterations to my behaviour. This is good. My considerably rusty, 3 years incel state, with 2 years of insane german women and a lack of a social life, had left me a bit worried that I'd lost it completely, and that I was doomed to a single life. This does not appear to be the case. Of course, nothing has actually come of all this being charming as of yet, but I've had some fun anyways, and gotten to meet some nice people.
(I also appear to have managed to have spent most of both of these weddings talking to a bridesmaid, which sounds quite good, at least on paper...)
