For some reason, there's a number of American shows that I hadn't even heard of, let alone seen until I came to the Netherlands. Something about the near-universal many-channels cable here or something. Somehow, I've ended up watching (RSS+Bittorrent. yay! Yes they are on TV, but I keep forgetting) CSI: Miami - which I don't really care that much about the ongoing storyline, but the individual episodes are fun - and Gilmore Girls. Weirdly, 3/4 of my house (that's everyone aside from Navid, who watches quite a lot of TV, but mostly American action movies, Bollywood shows/some films, a lot of CNN and a bunch of nature shows) seems to like the thing. They just did the Season 5 finale this week, and I've just gotten around to watching it (reasons why I like downloaded content: I watch it when I have time), and I'm going to stay spoiler-free, but let's just say there's a number of fairly major things happening. I now really want more Gilmore Girls. I can cope with waiting a week, I'm used to that, but apparently Series 6 isn't starting until September 20th. Arse. Damn cliffhangers...
I watch more TV now than I used to - a significant amount of that is downloaded (Gilmore Girls, CSI:Miami, Enterprise (well, until this week), Aim for the Top 2, that sort of thing), but having a decent sized TV in the living room that I have to walk past (open plan ground floor) to get to the stairs to my room helps as well.
