A while back I tried to set off a meme of "post 3 odd screen captures from bits of video". This didn't exactly get much uptake (i.e. zero), but I still like occasionally posting a few odd things that I've spotted. And especially as I've been watching a bunch of "Angelic Layer" (thanks for those
samurite), I've got a few captures from there as well as some I was saving up. So, firstly an odd shot from a Voyager episode. Now, is this just me, or is that a Windows right-click menu in the middle of all of the LCARS stuff?

Secondly, a picture of one of the Tachikoma's from Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex. You're going to have to use a bit of imagination here, but imagine this chunky fast-moving, somewhat smart tank trying to whistle and act innocuous. They are completely insane. Especially if like me you've got a copy of the Tachikoma Specials from the GitS:SAC DVDs and you get to watch these bonkers pseudo-group-"intelligences" getting up to even more crazy shit.

And then we come to Angelic Layer. Short version is lots of people fighting with these telepresence dolls, so you get lots of people of a variety of ages (5-18?) all able to have fights on a somewhat equal playing field. So we have the main character Misaki Suzuhara who's never played the game before the beginning of the series, but somehow still manages to be able to eventually beat everyone (at least so far, only watched about 5 out of 26 so far). Here's a shot of her.

Now, my major point of this shot was to note that she badly needs to cut down on the melange, but the caption was funny enough that I decided to keep in anyways. She's somewhat aided by the crazy Icchan, who's either a psychotic pervert with a penchant for getting his assistant to do things like stuff spaghetti up his nose, or a genius scientist who seems to have known that Misaki had talent before she even played. For example, here's him appararently in some sort of disagreement with some cats...

Anyways. Time to be less insane....
