I'm about to move all of my crap to my new place, and as I have no ideas about the network setup at the new place and there's a distinct lack of other housemates right now, it's gonna be a very much "suck it and see" approach to getting online. So, if you don't see me online much for a day or two, don't be surprised. At least there's CAT-5 going into my room, but I can't get at the thing it's connected to, and so I can't even narrow down the ISP that they're using.
In other (but semi-related) news: went to buy a hammer yesterday and experienced Odd Dutch Shopping Experience #357 in a place called Hema. Basically it's a department store, but they have all sorts of other stuff. Having managed to locate the hammer, I turn around and find both a new bike brake cable (which I needed) and a CAT-5 crimping tool (which I don't yet need, but would be nice). Now, this is all within a ~3-4m section of aisle. I'm yet to work out the organisational concepts that puts all of these things together....
