Various random blog-related articles have referred to a number of personal blogs as being "streams-of-consciousness". Mine is approximately that, but I've always preferred to think of it as brain dumps/snapshots of my current thoughts. I write a lot of things here, and most of it I wouldn't say normally, but that's mostly because I'd bore the hell out of everyone with my endless ranting of various bits of fandom + all my random programmer shit. Yet, I still appear to have readers.... hmm, guess I must have a few interesting things in here somewhere. Yay me. LJ does its work well keeping me sane. I think I'd be in a worse state without it, and without all of you reading this. Thanks. Back to your regularly scheduled programming.....

Went to see "Lost in Translation" tonight at the Filmhuis Lumen. I had actually watched about 2/3rd's of a Divx copy of it before (hence the earlier screenshot), but for some reason I stopped. In a way I'm glad I did, 'cause it meant I went out and saw it tonight, in this cool little arthouse cinema. I was sitting there in this little cinema, in a perfect seat, with only two others also watching, and as they were right at the back, I barely noticed them. Practically an individual showing. Seeing films in their 10th week is *so* the way to get the perfect cinema experience. No screaming kids, no heads in your way. I would have liked to have had one other person there to share this experience with, but oh well. There was a 5-minute break in the middle, and I got up to get a drink, and they even had Mort Subite, which is a very nice kriek (it's better than the description says, and that's also from my Dad and brother who both had one when they were over). It was a good experience.

Came home and watched an episode of Good Eats (yay bittorrent). Admittedly this is a lot to do with the Wired article, but it was still quite fun. I was kinda in a cooking-show mood having managed to do interesting things with some cod (didn't know it was cod when I bought it - couldn't read the dutch, but could see "generic white fish" and I wanted a change) and teriyaki sauce earlier. Worked out pretty well.

On the asian theme, today's UserFriendly is hilarious
