Palfrey's life

Went to another Instemming tonight. They're gonna call for success/failure at some point tommorrow, but here's my 4-important-points review of the place (not all points are equal)

• Location: To fucking die for. It's got great views (lake, trees, etc) *and* it's 5 minutes from my building. It actually has line-of-sight to my office. A few pringles cans later, and we're sorted.... if I want any closer, I'm going to have to sleep in my office. OTOH it's a bit of a bastard to find. Odd numbered houses are in one place, and even numbers are 5 minutes further down the road *sigh*.


• People: Nice, but there's 14 of them (12 blokes, 2 women) and so it's got the whole sporty types in abundance. Heck, one of them is a professional-level rower in addition to his studies. But they're nice people despite all that.


• House: Bit on the grotty side. It's a floor of an old student complex, with everything from mouse problems to bizarre paintwork. In a recent mouse-catching competition *one* of the housemates managed to catch 7 mice over a short space of time. That's not good.


• Room: Didn't actually see the room (some confusion 'cause I turned up late), but saw one of the others, and apparently they're very similar. It's better than the last one, but I think I'm gonna need to find more up-market things. I've got a freaking salary FFS, I should use it....

Net result: It's ok, but I've got another 4.5 months before I get thrown out, so I think I'll turn them down if they say yes. If I was running out of time, I'd take it.

Non-instemming things
Have noted a vast explosion in "gods I'm bored" posts (yes, this means you invisigoth51). Prod samurite if you need someone to post (samurite, where's the traditional "well, I finally gave in" post?)

Things I want
Dichroic Beads - me and jewellery is a variable thing, but these are *beautiful*. Not sure they'd suit me unfortunately, but if I had someone to buy stuff for, I'd buy them this just so I could see it being used.
