Palfrey's life

Going to TNO tommorrow (the nice ppl who sponsor my PhD). They have a lovely little copyright notice on their website "No rights can be derived from the content of the TNO-FEL website" - not sure whether this is a bad translation from the dutch, or just the military/govermental paranoia of the place. Gonna be going there every Tuesday from now on - doing work with the Eyes nodes and some Berkley Mica nodes as well - lets try and get the buggers to talk. In other news, bike is well and truly buggered. Bastard thing has a punctured back tyre, and my attempts to fix it are failing madly. The half-disassembled rusting piece of shit is gonna be sitting near my door for bloody ever at this rate.

K, something a bit more cheery. While randomly wandering around LJ (via metaquotes) spotted something done by caramiaculpa, namely a story based on your default icon. I figured "what the heck. mine's weird enough". so here goes. I have *no* literary talent, but I'm gonna try. (big version may help understanding)
