Been watching a bit of Buffy S7 recently (trying to finally finish watching the darn series), and to me it will now forever be known as the "jumping the shark" series. Let's see... "Him" for starters - Dawn having the whole stereotypical horror scene w/ bad poltergeist-type thing trying to get her, Buffy doing the weird postmodernist scene with the extended conversation with the vampire, etc. On that sort of note - why hasn't anyone shown Dawn a few more horror movies? *I'd* have higher odds of surviving in Sunnydale than she should have.

K, that's the geeky fanboy rambling done. Went swimming today with Koen, the idea being that we'll probably both be too lazy individually to go swimming, but together we can remind each other. First time I've been in ages, new goggles fucking up a bit, just need to switch over the nose bit I think. Luckily they came with a few, so will do. Need lights for the bike - found one of the annoying noises today (stand end hitting back spokes), but can't be seen in dark. Doesn't even have reflectors....

As I've now got the set of docs needed for properly signing up for MSc (BSc certificate, signed transcript for BSc, passport), spoke to Frank van de Flugt (MSc guiding person) re: that, except it was as I figured - no such luck. He/Henk Sips (head of research group+on Exam cttee) will have to write a letter or something, etc, etc, and meanwhile I think I should have found a group for my Real Time Systems c/w - fug knows why, the c/w looks pretty simple to me (just an extended Dining Philosophers, more-or-less, which I've done in blasted CSP before, so no probs) - but as I'm not signed up properly to MSc yet, not in the Blackboard (online course info system) so can't find out more. Crap. At this point, I'm a bit worried about my surviving the PhD.

Been trying to get some CD-R's here - very expensive (damn taxes), and I've run out out both CD-R's and HDD space.... have ended up ordering from UK, first from edirectory - big bokkups (ack, Orbital Resonance reference, knew I'd end up using the term eventually, information pack rat that I am), now from Maplins - you'd be amazed how few UK electronics companies - including all my standard ones (Dabs/Novatech mostly) - won't deliver outside of UK. Hoping Maplins will be nice.....
