palfrey at 12:16am on 17/02/2003I'm a lot more amused this evening than the pissed off state I started the day with. Two things of particular amusement
1) An idiot, called Kevin (*really* hoping he never reads this) keeps sending out regular updates about his life to those of us unlucky enough to come in contact with him while he was over here in the UK. Now, I somehow ended up on this list, and he just sent out his latest email. Normally, I'd just curse his existence and delete it, but this time I decided to feed it to the lovely QSF (Quick Spam Filter), a Bayesian spam filter I've been using just recently. Having done this, his rapid next email (idiot had forgotten to attach some pointless photo to the email), got classified as spam.... :-) Maybe this will stop me having to read his crap.
2) I've been fishing around for some software to help me use Lex/Yacc to build a part of my final year project - a part that shouldn't take up much of my time at all, but it would be kinda nice. Been using a tool called Memphis, which is not bad, despite its crappy docs. More a matter of take apart the examples and cannabalize. One of the docs however, had a spelling mistake that amused me probably way more than it should. Someone managed to spell "analyser" as "analizer". The humour of it is rapidly becoming lost on me, but I know I was a lot more amused when I first saw it. Schoolboy humour or something I think... It's been a day of little humour, and I'm grasping at straws.
Oh well, tommorrow's another day. Hopefully a slightly fricking warmer one. The heating in my house is shitty, and my circulation is not the best in the world.
