Today was my first day with Imperial. *Insert stories about fear-and-HR here*.
Good bits: I have a desk, a computer, and a key to the office
Bad bits: I don't have a login, or a swipecard (but there are plans to fix both tomorrow)
Very bad bits: grr, arrgh, 1h45 commute each way. I am flat-hunting... (spent some time in Wimbledon last week, but I'm now looking at flat sharing thingies) but meanwhile it's not fun.
Oh, and there was some fun this morning doing the whole "let's see people intro" around the medical area that's responsible for part of my funding. Ok, mainly 'cause I'm being inducted at the same time as a medic... A great many artificial buttocks (plus misc limbs) were noticed along the way, which amused yours truly, but I'm sure this is old hat to the medical people around here.
