I've been meaning to write this post for about a week or so, and then people talking about one of the plans has reminded me once again, so here it is. There's some stuff here I'd to do over the (mostly) near-term future, but I need person/people to come along with me, as this ain't so fun alone!
Films
Theatre
Comedy
To some extent, this is only the tip of the iceberg. I feel I'm doing lots of social stuff these days, but not enough events and things of the type on this list, and so ideas are more than welcome...
Films
- Plans have been made (with two WINOLJ folk) to go and see the new Star Trek at 1:45pm at Wimbledon on the 9th of May, to which any and all of you are welcome along
- I'd also like to see: Coraline (3D version, which I'd like to see, is released 8th May) and X-Men Origins: Wolverine (29th April onwards).
Theatre
- The Open Air Theatre is running again in Regent's Park from 25th May onwards. I'd particularly like to see the Tempest and The Importance of Being Earnest, but other stuff also looks like fun
Comedy
- I've got this crazy half-plan about visiting the Edinburgh Fringe again this year. Went in 2002 and loved it, so if only I can figure out the accommodation problem... It runs from 7-31 August this year (I'd probably want to pick say a 5-7 day block of that), and from what I remember, getting tickets for quite a lot of interesting things can basically be done on the day.
However, the problem is finding somewhere to stay. Now, a) there's things like the decent article the Guardian did on this problem to help my search and b) I'm no longer a student, and so therefore can actually pay for things now! Alternately, the camping option which we did last time was not too bad.
To some extent, this is only the tip of the iceberg. I feel I'm doing lots of social stuff these days, but not enough events and things of the type on this list, and so ideas are more than welcome...
